With the “Reads” magazines, which are independent of the textbooks, children can independently acquire reading skills. The requirements grow with the skills acquired. First the children read single words, later short sentences and finally increasingly complex texts. In doing so, they gain reading experience with different types of text (short story, non-fiction, rhyme, fairy tale, thriller, newspaper, letter, puzzles). Additional reading exercises with clear action tasks (such as painting, ticking or connecting) demand and promote reading accuracy and understanding of the text.
