Notice of Privacy Policy

(Revision Date: March 1, 2017)

The privacy of our visitors and customers has always been and will continue to be important to us. This privacy notice sets forth the privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) of Kinder-Books (“Vendor”) regarding personal information that Vendor collects, and the various ways in which Vendor makes use of that personal information. By using this website, all visitors and customers are deemed to have agreed to the collection and use of information within the terms of this Privacy Policy. In the event that you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, then you should not use this site or give Vendor any of your information. This Privacy Policy is governed by our Terms of Use.

HOW PERSONAL INFORMATION IS COLLECTED

Vendor, either on its own or my means of third parties or agents, may collect and use personal information about visitors to its website(s), which may include, but is not limited to:

  • A person’s name, email, address, and telephone number;
  • Any information that is provided for the purpose of registering with the website and/or any affiliated blog, newsletter or RSS feed;
  • All information related to prior, current and pending transactions, including credit/debit card account information, PayPal or other electronic payment mechanisms, and shipping information for order fulfillment, conducted over this website;
  • Any other information that may be provided for the purpose of subscribing to communications; and
  • Information relating to items searched for, reviewed and/or purchased.

Vendor also collects content and information you provide for the purpose of interacting with the Blog.

Vendor further records information that your internet browser sends whenever you visit or use this site. This information, which may also be referred to as the “Log Data” or the “Log Files,” may include your IP address, your internet service provider, browser information including your referring and exit pages, your computer’s operating system, and information regarding the pages that have been visited on Vendor’s website, including the time and date of all visits and other statistical information.

In addition, Vendor may collect on its own, and/or employ third parties and third-party technology to assist with, transactions, marketing, and analytics.  Vendor and these third parties collect information that is shared with Vendor regarding your interests and purchase behavior, including items that you may have shown interest in on Vendor’s website, and whether you have completed or abandoned a subsequent purchase.  Vendor may use online advertising such as Google AdWords or similar remarketing or re-targeting services to advertise on third-party websites (including Google) to previous visitors to its website.  What this means is that we may advertise our goods and services to prior visitors to our website who may or may not have completed a task or transaction on our site.  This advertising could appear as an advertisement on the Google search results page, or on another website using the Google Display Network.

COOKIES, BEACONS, AND OPTING OUT

Vendor utilizes cookies and similar technology such as web beacons (embedded objects) and single-pixel GIF files to record Log Data and Log Files.  Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to the visiting computer’s hard drive through the internet browser (if allowed by the computer operator) that enable the sites’ or service providers’ systems to recognize the visitor’s browser and then capture and retain certain information about the visitor.  This helps us to improve the visitors’ access to our site and to identify returning visitors.

Vendor may use both session-based and persistent cookies.  Session-based cookies are designed to operate only for the time that the visitor’s web browser is in use, and are deleted or expire when the visitor closes the browser.  A persistent cookie differs in that it will last until it expires or until the computer operator has it deleted (this can often be done in the “internet options” menu).  Sometimes we administer the use of cookies directly (this is known as first-party cookies) and tracking technologies, and at times we rely upon third parties (e.g., Google Analytics or Yahoo Flurry) for this function (generally referred to as third-party cookies).

Websites such as ours make use of cookies in order to improve your experience and promote our business and that of our affiliates, including to:

  • remember and process the items that you have selected and placed into your shopping cart;
  • record and remember your preferences for future visits;
  • avoid your needing to login multiple times during your visit with user identification tracking;
  • develop statistics and reports on our website and web traffic activity;
  • monitor and respond to your interests so as to enhance your experience on our website, including searches and web traffic adjacent to activity on this website;
  • deliver advertisements based on a prior visit to this website;
  • promote integration with social media; and
  • furnish other services related to this website.

You may choose to opt out of third-party cookies from Google Analytics.  You may also find additional cookie opt-out options at the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI).  Note that if you decide to opt out, then you must do so for each browser and device that you operate, and will further need to opt out each time that you delete your cookies or upgrade your browser.

If you wish to opt out of receiving marketing materials or emails from us, including any newsletter or other materials, you may do so here: www.kinder-books.com/myaccount/newsletters
